You might want to use this as a means to send out notices as new titles are released, upcoming promotions (either your own, or the company's), let your customers know where you will next be exhibiting your books etc etc.
The names and email addresses would be stored in a separate file (accessible only by you) as well as emailed to you as your customers sign up.
